Useful when the page gets difficult

The camera-first approach removes much of the effort involved in entering equations by hand. Once a problem is recognised, Photomath can explain the route to the result in smaller stages, with visual guidance available for some solutions. When more than one method is offered, students can compare approaches with what they have been taught in class. A manual calculator is also available for testing values and working through problems that are easier to enter than scan.

Learning aid, not a replacement for practice

Its convenience also creates the obvious risk of skipping the explanation and copying the result.
